Chai Candied Bacon: The Brunch Showstopper
Bacon soaked in Bright Chai Syrup, dredged in spiced brown sugar, and baked crisp on a wire rack. Best planned around brunch since it needs two hours of marinating time, but hands-on effort is minimal.
At a glance
- Prep time: 2 hours (mostly marinating)
- Cook time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 4 servings
- Special equipment: Wire rack set over a sheet pan
Ingredients
- 8 pieces of bacon
- 1 bottle (12 oz) Bright Chai Syrup, enough to submerge the bacon
- ½ cup lightly packed brown sugar
- ½ tbsp masala chai spice
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Marinate the bacon in the Bright Chai Syrup in the fridge for 2 hours, using just enough to fully cover it.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Set a greased wire cooling rack over a sheet pan.
- Whisk the brown sugar, chai spice, and cinnamon together in a shallow dish.
- Drain the bacon and press each piece into the dry mixture to lightly coat, dusting off any excess. Lay in a single layer on the rack.
- Bake for 18 minutes, flipping once halfway through. Broil for 2 more minutes to crisp — watch closely so it doesn't burn.
- Cool briefly before serving. Good luck stopping at one piece.
