Spicy Ginger Turkey Meatballs

Have a ball tonight in the kitchen- or two or three!

1 1/3 lb ground turkey
| 2/3 c almond meal
1 egg
1/2 c apple sauce
1 scallion
1/4 small yellow onion
1 tsp grated ginger
1 grated garlic clove
1 tbsp @portlandsyrups Spicy Ginger Syrup
4 splashes fish sauce
splash sesame oil
2 tsp tamari
a few cracks of black pepper
1/4 c @portlandsyrups Spicy Ginger Syrup
1/8 c tamari
2 dashes fish sauce

For meatballs, add all ingredients into a bowl and combine with your hands until everything is incorporated. Form 15 even balls and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Place meatballs in a 400F oven for 10 min. After 10 min, crank heat up to 450F and cook another 15 min. While the meatballs are cooking, heat glaze ingredients in a small pot on medium heat until it begins to boil. Remove 2 tsp of hot sauce and whisk together with 1 tsp of cornstarch in a separate dish. Add cornstarch mixture to hot sauce and whisk to combine. Remove from heat and allow sauce to thicken. Once the meatballs have cooked for a total time of 25 min, remove from oven, brush each meatball with the glaze and place back in the oven to broil for 2-3 minutes. Once they begin turning golden, remove from oven, baste again with sauce, top with cilantro, scallions, and sesame seeds and enjoy!
