Portland Syrups x Anders Erickson Grenadine

Compared to this syrup every other grenadine on the market is just sugar water and red food coloring.

I've been using this in so many things since I've gotten it. It makes for great mocktails, cocktails, coffee sweetener, everything. I like it way better than the stuff I was making myself, and obviously much better than other similar commercially available products.

I've only used the usual store bought grenadine. Recently I went down the rabbit hole of tiki cocktails and discovered Anders Erickson's videos. For the price I figured this grenadine was worth trying. What a difference! The shrunken skull has become one of my favorite drinks. Even in drinks with a small amount of grenadine, this made them better. Made my rum runners noticeably better.

This is a really good grenadine! It has a really nice texture, smooth, somewhat thick but too much; & the flavor is really nice. It doesn’t taste artificial at all. I mixed some with sprite & it made for a lovely Shirley Temple.
It mixes very nicely in any liquid & makes my cocktails/mocktails taste really good. I also like that it doesn’t taste too sweet either. Some grenadine are overpowering & can be much too sweet which makes drinks sweeter than I like. Tiki drinks tends to be sweet already due to the various juices mixed in even before you add grenadine. This grenadine does have sugar, but it doesn’t overwhelm the drink.
I really like the taste of it as well. Somewhat fruity, perhaps a hint of tartness (depending on what it’s mixed with), well rounded. It really is quite tasty.
I will definitely be using Portland Syrups’ grenadine as well as they’re other syrups & bitters from now on!

I bought this because of Anders and it's so delicious. Definitely worth buying.
