The Ultimate Intro Kit

I try a new flavor each night, and I still haven’t tasted every flavor. But so far I can tell that I will stick with the Spicy Ginger. I mix it with seltzer, 4 shots of hot sauce, and a big dash of bitters. Non alcoholic drinks are my thing, and I like mature flavors.

This was a gift for my son-in-law and he was very happy with it. He sent me a picture of them all lined up and promised to make some tasty drinks when we visit!

I happen to be watching Anders Erickson on his YouTube channel (wonderful fun bartender who creates classic cocktails). He mentioned that he collaborated with Portland Syrups to make his version of grenadine. Well, I immediately had to buy some!
After viewing Portland Syrups website, they had some interesting syrup flavors that I had to try. So not only did I buy some of Ander’s grenadine, I decided to also, purchase the sampler of all the syrups Portland Syrups offers. Ordering was quite easy & quick. Delivery was also pretty quick as well.
Unfortunately, when I received the box, it was pretty badly damaged & totally soaked. It came wrapped in a plastic bag & left in one of USPS plastic bins. Sadly half the bottles were cracked or completely broken & the syrups were all over the box. It was a sticky mess, but it did smelled amazing. Lol.
I immediately sent a chat message to Portland Syrups regarding the issue & Dan responded to my inquiry almost instantly. He immediately offered apologies for the inconvenience & informed me that he will make sure my whole order would be resent that day. I was very thankful for his quick response & resolution.
Well, I just received the 2nd box in perfect condition (except for a small dent in the corner of the box. Luckily, it didn’t affect anything in the box.) I was quite pleased & immediately opened a couple of syrups to try.
I have to say that I like All the syrups I’ve tried so far. The Cola & Root Beer syrups taste just like they were described! The Strawberry Lime & Mojito is wonderful mixed into Sprite. And I really like the Spiced Cranberry in a Cosmopolitan & wonderful in a Vodka Cranberry cocktail. There’s also a recipe book that come with the syrups to which I will be making some of them. I had yet to try the other syrups as yet, but I have no doubt they will be very tasty!
I will say the syrups don’t really taste too sweet, which I really like. The consistency is smooth & the flavors are spot on! As for Ander Erickson’s grenadine, it’s delicious & works great in multiple types of cocktails & mocktails.
I definitely will be ordering syrups for Portland Syrups going forward! They are well made, very tasty, & their customer service is awesome!
