Ube Latte
An iced latte with a violet crown. Our Ube Syrup gets frothed into a thick, spoonable cold foam that floats over espresso-and-milk — nutty vanilla on the tongue, lavender-purple in the glass.
At a glance
- Prep time: 4 minutes
- Glassware: Tall glass
Ingredients
- 2 espresso shots (or ¼ cup strong brewed coffee)
- 7 oz cold milk of choice
- 1 cup ice
- 1 oz Ube Syrup
Instructions
- Make the ube cold foam: pour 3 oz of the milk into a frother or tall jar, add the Ube Syrup, and froth until thick, creamy, and spoonable. The foam should be a soft lavender-purple and hold its shape. Set aside.
- Combine the remaining 4 oz cold milk with the espresso and stir.
- Fill a glass with ice. Pour the coffee-milk mixture over the ice.
- Spoon or slowly pour the ube cold foam over the top.
Note: Espresso gives the boldest flavor and the most contrast against the sweet ube foam. If using strong brewed coffee, let it cool to room temperature first. For extra punch, freeze leftover coffee into ice cubes — no dilution, all the flavor.
