Rose Cordial Sour: Bubbles, Citrus, and a Little Romance

Romantic, elegant, and just a little bit dazzling — this floral sour is made for Valentine’s Day. Portland Syrups’ Rose Cordial brings a fragrant sweetness, balanced by bright lemon and silky egg white foam. A touch of edible glitter makes it sparkle, just like the perfect date night.

PREP: 3 MINS // YIELD: 1 COCKTAIL
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 oz Portland Syrups Rose Cordial
  • 2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • A pinch of white edible glitter
  • Ice
  • Rose petal or edible flowers

    DIRECTIONS
    1. In a cocktail shaker (without ice), add the Rose Cordial syrup, gin/vodka, lemon juice, egg white, and a pinch of white edible glitter.
    2. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds. This step creates the frothy texture from the egg white.
    3. Open the shaker, add ice, and shake again for another 15–20 seconds to chill the drink.
    4. Double strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or martini glass to ensure a silky texture.
    5. Lightly sprinkle a tiny amount of white edible glitter on top of the froth for a sparkling effect (optional). Garnish with rose petals or an edible flower if desired.
