This is the peppermint syrup that earns its place in your winter rotation. We brew it from real peppermint and spearmint leaves (with a touch of peppermint concentrate for extra punch), so the flavor reads as fresh and herbal — like a peppermint plant rather than a candy cane. The result is a syrup that adds real cool-mint depth without veering into toothpaste territory.

Stir an ounce into a hot mocha for a peppermint mocha that competes with your nearest coffee shop. Splash it into vodka and Bailey's for a Peppermint White Russian that drinks like dessert. Add it to hot cocoa for the kid-friendly version of the holidays. Mix it with sparkling water for a refreshing peppermint soda that's surprisingly good year-round.

Tasting Notes: fresh peppermint, soft spearmint warmth, clean herbal finish, cooling mouthfeel

The Short Version: A peppermint and spearmint syrup brewed from real leaves — fresh, herbal, and naturally cool, designed for winter mochas, holiday cocktails, and hot chocolate that feels like a treat.

Ingredients: Filtered water, organic cane sugar, organic peppermint leaves, organic spearmint leaves, organic peppermint concentrate, citric acid.

Perfect For: Holiday hosts, peppermint mocha fans, winter cocktail makers, hot chocolate enthusiasts, and anyone who associates December with mint.

Best Enjoyed In: Peppermint mochas (1 oz syrup + espresso + steamed milk + chocolate), peppermint hot cocoa, Peppermint White Russians, peppermint martinis, or stirred into hot tea for an after-dinner sipper.

The Portland Syrups Promise: Ethically sourced, carefully brewed, and bottled in glass jars right here in SE Portland, Oregon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long does the syrup last after opening?
A: Our syrups are shelf-stable for 24 months unopened. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within 6 months.

Q: How strong is the peppermint flavor?
A: Pleasantly assertive but never overwhelming. Because we brew with whole peppermint and spearmint leaves (rather than mint extract or oil), the flavor reads as fresh and herbal rather than toothpaste-medicinal. Most people find an ounce in a 12-oz drink delivers clear peppermint character without dominating other flavors — it works alongside chocolate, coffee, and cocoa rather than overpowering them.

Q: Is Peppermint syrup kid-friendly?
A: Yes — it's a great way to make mint hot chocolate or peppermint cocoa for kids without the candy-cane sugar bomb. Mix 1 oz into 8 oz of hot chocolate or warm milk for an instant holiday treat. The peppermint flavor is real (not artificial), so it tastes more like fresh mint and less like commercial peppermint candy.

Excellent

I have been putting a little bit in my ice water. It makes me drink more water without it being laden with artificial flavors or sugar. Hope it's coming back so I can buy a case.

A Little Goes a Long Way

This is definitely fresh peppermint, though less heavy on the syrup. I was expecting more of a syrup consistency, like the grenadine, but instead found it to be quite thin. It's very herbaceous and minty, so you really only need a little (the peppermint martini recipe on here recommended an ounce and I felt like I was drinking mouthwash). A little in you cocoa, maybe, but I prefer more of an actual syrup than a tonic, which is kind of what this seemed like, consistency-wise.

Best Peppermint ever

I’m not sure why this peppermint is better than all the others but I’ve never really liked peppermint syrup until now. The others taste fake and this one does not. So good.
