Q: What does rhubarb taste like? A: Rhubarb is a vegetable that often gets used like fruit — most famously in strawberry-rhubarb pie. The flavor is sharply tart, almost lemony, with a subtle vegetal note that adds complexity to anything sweet. On its own, rhubarb is too tart to eat raw. Paired with raspberry (as in this syrup), the tartness balances the sweet jammy berry and gives the whole flavor profile more dimension. Fast shipping! I love that they are all bottled in glass jars. I've tried a few brands of syrups to flavor coffee and cocktails. These are by far the best! They aren't overly sweet which allows the flavors to come through. The lavender is my favorite and you can really taste the lavender. It brings me back to summer and waking though a lavender field while vacationing in Wisconsin. The syrup is delicious in coffee and also makes an elevated lavender lemon drop.
